MSD/Drainage

On August 17, 2019 I posted on our city's website a problem with a Drainage issue in our city. This pass week I called and spoke with a MSD represenative who advised me that when MSD puts a Concrete Culvert on a residents property it becomes Private Property and is the responsibility of the Resident to keep the Concrete Culvert in their yard clear of any and all Debris. Basically this means that when MSD puts a culvert in your Front Yard or in the back of your property it is the Homeowners responsibility to keep the Concrete Culverts clear of any debris so that during storms water will flow freely out of our city. I do understand that it is not always possible for Residents to clear these Culverts in the rear of their homes because of fences, but if possible try to clear these culverts out.
